Executive Committee – Chair (voluntary position)

Our Trustee Board (known as the Executive Committee) is constituted as five to sixteen members and currently comprises six, of whom three are current or former Counsellors. We need to replace our Chair, who will come to the end of her six year term in 2025. The Board meets nine time per year, alternating between online and in person meetings in Leicester.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of the Executive Committee and, with the EC and the staff team, the charity
  • Leads on governance of the charity in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Active support, encouragement and a listening ear for the Director and team
  • Prepares for, participates in and chairs EC meetings and the Annual General Meeting
  • Line manager for the Director
  • Escalation point for serious issues and procedures such as Complaints and Disciplinary
  • Recruitment of trustees and staff
  • Prepares documents for EC consideration on issues such as trustee recruitment and staff remuneration
