Thank you and Goodbye!
After 13 years at The Leicester Counselling Centre as a counsellor, and the past 8 as the Director, I am both happy and sad to announce my retirement. Happy because I am really looking forward to this next chapter of my life but sad to be leaving a place I have really loved and enjoyed working in for so long and with such amazing people. I have worked with some truly incredible clients and have learned so much through this work and I hope I have also helped them in return. The staff, counsellors, assessors, trustees and receptionists have all been a joy to work with and make the atmosphere so conducive to counselling and to enjoying our work together whilst we provide the best service we can.
The Leicester Counselling Centre is a unique organisation and its ethos to provide long-term, affordable and accessible counselling to all is more vital today than it has ever been and is something we are all passionate about. Everyone puts so much into the Centre to make it the highly-valued and well-respected local organisation it is and has been for nearly 40 years.
I warmly welcome our new Director, Hannah Cooper, who was a counsellor at the Centre herself for several years and so knows it well. Hannah has been managing a counselling charity in Norfolk since 2007 and will, I believe, make an excellent Director for the Centre. I wish her well in her new role and hope she will go on to have many happy years with The Leicester Counselling Centre as I have.
