For 40 years, the centre has worked very closely with local universities and colleges to provide placements for counsellors in training so they can gain the clinical experience necessary for their qualification. Placement counsellors go through a careful selection process and need to be the right counsellors for the centre and to be trained to a high standard.
We are passionate about supporting students throughout the journey of their counselling training and enjoy taking on new placements in the autumn, with a second intake in the spring. We pride ourselves in the support we are able to offer placement counsellors and the support they are able to offer and gain from each other at the centre. Placements come from a range of modalities and are able to share their course and training experiences with each other.
Clients are carefully allocated to counsellors, always making sure it is an appropriate match, so that both parties may positively benefit from the experience. If you are on a BACP approved course and would like to apply for a placement, please download an application form here.
We are always looking for receptionists to cover the reception desk, which involves light administrative and telephone duties.
